The lookout points of Alicante are perfect places to disconnect with your family and friends and enjoy unbeatable views, many of which have the sea on the horizon. These lookout points are reasons for visiting for many, as they allow you to take in a bird’s-eye view of fascinating places along the Costa Blanca – an area that is known for its immensity and magnificence, even more so when seen from any of the numerous viewpoints.
The Best Lookout Points in the Province
In Alicante, you can find panoramic views from these different lookout points, although you must be careful: some of them are atop cliffs or in similarly complicated areas. We recommend visiting some of the following places, as long as you are always cautious.
1. The Santa Pola Lighthouse Viewpoint
Santa Pola is one of the most renowned towns in the Province of Alicante as it has some wonderful corners that allow you to take walks with the sea as your backdrop as you disconnect from your normal routine. This destination is in high demand for tourists, many of whom decide to explore a little more to reach one of the most charming corners of the town.
We are talking about the viewpoint at the Santa Pola Lighthouse, which we recommend visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon to see the sunrise and sunset from high up. In addition, this is the perfect place to breathe the purest air in the entire municipality of Alicante.
2. La Falzia Viewpoint
Located among the pines, this lookout point has spectacular views and gives a firsthand look at the La Barraca Coves and the Cap Prim Bay. To get to the lookout point, you will have to go to the town of Jávea and start moving upwards until you find the best view of the coves.
3. The Peñón de Ifach (Calpe Rock) Viewpoint
In Calpe, you can find the perfect place to go on vacation and also one of the symbols of the Costa Blanca: the Peñón de Ifach, also known as Calpe Rock. It is part of a towering limestone rock mass measuring 332 meters high and whose summit is noteworthy for its incredible views of Calpe and the Mediterranean.
The route to the top of the Peñón has a couple levels of difficulty, although the extra effort really pays off. And, in this case, there is no better treasure than to see views that you will remember forever.
4. The Albir Lighthouse Viewpoint
The Albir Lighthouse route is somewhat simpler than the previous one; hence, it is an ideal day trip for the whole family. Here, the views of the mountains and the sea come together to form a picture perfect moment that is really worth it. This route is part of the Serra Gelada Natural Park and the prize at the end of the route is the Albir Lighthouse Viewpoint, located in the municipality of L’Alfàs del Pi.
5. The Balcony of the Mediterranean
Along the entire Mediterranean coast, one can find a series of balconies and viewpoints that bring about a feeling of immensity that is difficult to describe. One such viewpoint is in Benidorm and it is a “must” for anyone visiting the city for the first time.
In addition, this place has the unique feature of offering beautiful 360-degree views, as you will be able to see the city skyscrapers, the Poniente and Levante Beaches, the marina and boardwalk, and Mal Pas Cove. In other words, it is the best possible panoramic view of all of Benidorm.
The Skyscrapers of Benidorm
Benidorm is the quintessential skyscraper city in our country, being ranked only behind Madrid as the city with the most buildings of this type. This is one of the features that makes this city have something special, and it is a selling point for national and foreign tourists.
The city has all the comforts for those who visit it, but it is true that, beyond that, most visitors are looking for something that makes the place stand out, such as the Benidorm skyline. The city’s skyscrapers give it an eye-catching aspect that we are not used to seeing in most of the cities of Spain.
Therefore, the city has a great panoramic view that can be enjoyed from the aforementioned Balcony of the Mediterranean or from any of the municipality’s tall buildings. So, which are the highest of the skyscrapers? Here’s a list with the three tallest skyscrapers in order of height.
1. Intempo Building. Located in the Vía Parque area, this is the tallest building in Benidorm, measuring 192 meters in length and featuring 47 floors, distributed over twin towers.
2. Bali Building. 186 meters make this building, built between 1987 and 2002, the second tallest in the city. At the time, it was the highest in Europe.
3. Lúgano Tower. Situated in the Rincón de Loix neighborhood, this building is the third tallest in Benidorm and measures 158 meters in length.
In short, all of these lookout points in Alicante have spectacular views and are perfect for family visits.
