The new managers of Terra Mítica since 2011 – The Aqualandia Group – continue building the first themed hotel which will service the Terra Mítica leisure complex. Said hotel will be located near the Egypt area and will have a dual aim: to satisfy the great demand for lodging that exists from the park’s users and to strengthen Terra Mítica’s reputation as a leading park and tourist destination.
The hotel will be themed to fit in the area near to where it will be located and it will have all the amenities expected of a superior four-star establishment. Having a total of 346 rooms, the project shall be structured in two phases:
- The first phase shall be to construct a total of 226 rooms –including large, luxurious suites and junior suites– a large swimming pool, a large spa area with Jacuzzis, multi-purpose meeting rooms, and great, luscious gardens, amongst many other services.
- In the second phase, the future themed hotel will increase its size through the construction of 120 new rooms.
The inauguration date for the first themed hotel located next to Terra Mítica –which is foreseen to stay open 365 days a year once it is inaugurated- is set for summer of 2016 in terms of the first phase.
This themed hotel has already been baptized with the name of Grand Luxor Hotel and it will be the first of the three that are planned for Terra Mítica by the new park managers. Its investment will be around 30 million euros. Despite the fact that the foundation and structural work was undertaken by the ECISA company, the rest of the work is currently being hired out and each one of the proposals received is being studied.
